It's a very important decision in their life. They do it with the partner they wish to spend their lifetime/a very long time with.
(Please note that Søtsakers do NOT fall in love because of gender, but rather the looks and personality traits they find appealing).
In order to "breed", they take both their bells and connect them together, either by tying them or binding them together in some other way. The bells will need to be taken to the Søtsak God if it is a positive Søtsaker (if it is a negative Søtsaker then the Demon Gods will take place in the ritual instead.) The Søtsak God will chime the bells, giving it their blessings, and use their magic to make the child a mix of the two Søtsaker's traits.

If a negative/corrupted Søtsaker and a positive Søtsaker were to fall in love, they would perform the same ritual. Even though this is a highly rare situation where two of the differing sides would fall in love. Since the negative Søtsaker has the stronger magic, it will use what magic it has to perform the ritual the Gods would normally do. This child would hardly be able to socialze with the postitive Søtsaker, nor the negative ones, since this sort of breed frightens the Søtsakers. But even through such harsdships, the parents will never stop loving their child.
If the half breeded child would find a lover to breed with, the new child would take the positive side if it was breeded with a positive Søtsaker, and the negative side if it bred with a negative Søtsaker.
